Jack has been surfing since his teens and is known by many nicknames—Peacock, Shack, Sparrow… take your pick. As a surf instructor, his favorite part is raising people’s spirits by helping them gain confidence in both themselves and their abilities.

People are often surprised to learn that Jack is a mix of eight different nationalities. On his days off, he loves being in nature with his partner Jen and their kids, Kinley and Koa. His advice for visitors to Kauai? Slow down, take it easy, and don’t rush.

Jack’s surf style is inspired by a mix of legends and locals, including Michelle Alapa, Bill Bryan (Beaker), Brad Domke, and Dave Rastovich. He describes his vibe as analytical, chill, and volcanic, with a cat as his spirit animal in the water.

Whether he’s listening to hip hop, orchestral, funk, or electronic beats in his head while surfing, Jack brings both focus and fun to every session. His surf stories range from wild bungee and winching adventures to wipeouts that left him with concussions and a few staples—proof that he’s always pushed the limits in pursuit of stoke.
